Close Up
A series of onstage in-conversations, with Dave Haslam interviewing musicians, writers, actors and artists discussing their life and work. ‘Close Up’ events have featured the likes of writers Jonathan Franzen, Colson Whitehead, Michael Chabon, and Jackie Kay; the artist Jeremy Deller; musicians John Lydon, Kevin Rowland, David Byrne, Jarvis Cocker, Black Francis from the Pixies, Tracey Thorn, Wayne Coyne and Nile Rodgers; and actors John Thomson and Maxine Peake.
This onstage interview series has also gone abroad. In Jan 2014 Dave interviewed Laurent Garnier at the first of a series of ‘Close Up’ events at Silencio, Paris. In April 2016 he interviewed designer Peter Saville at Santeria, Milan. Some transcripts archived here
